Our School

The CARES facility was custom designed to meet the special needs of students with autism. Interior plans and features from special acoustical finishes and data collecting technology to therapy and sensory rooms, help reduce distractions and promote more effective teaching.
SENSORY ROOMS

Our school proudly features several state-of-the-art learning centers, including dedicated sensory rooms thoughtfully designed to engage and inspire our students. These interactive environments help children develop essential play skills—beginning with tracking vibrant, patterned lights with their eyes and progressing to pressing buttons that dynamically change the room’s colors and effects. Through these stimulating activities, students naturally cultivate a deeper interest in and connection to their surroundings.
In addition, the sensory rooms provide a serene space where children can relax, self-regulate, and reduce stress, supporting their emotional well-being throughout the day.

NEW IN 2025- Double zPOD

We are excited to announce the addition of a Double Z Pod to our Calming Corner. This state-of-the-art, fully enclosed, and self-contained sensory pod offers students a private, independent space where they can self-regulate at their own pace.
Designed for complete focus and comfort, the Double Z Pod blocks out all external noise when closed, creating a quiet sanctuary. Students can easily personalize their experience using built-in controls to play soothing music, adjust vibrant color lighting, and activate a fan for precise temperature regulation—empowering them to create the exact calming environment they need.

CLASSROOMS AT CARES

Classrooms are visually and physically engineered to support teaching and promote learning.  Clutter free and oder free classrooms decrease sensory overload, and the classroom's arrangement contributes to a child's understanding of his or her environment. A clean and distinct environment helps a child with autism focus his or her attention on learning instead of irrelevant stimuli.
COMMUNITY OUTINGS

CARES students are provided with many opportunities to take trips into the community. These community outings provide vital experiences to help our students learn in everyday situations. They regularly enjoy trips to the grocery store, swimming, seasonal community activities, and many other adventures that allow for individual growth.
